Using purchase-price data collected between August 2022 and July 2026, Cph Vintage Watches has tracked the development of two of Omega's most iconic vintage models. The findings suggest that well-preserved vintage Omegas continue to attract strong collector demand despite wider fluctuations in the luxury watch market.

Vintage watches have become more than collectibles
Over the past decade, mechanical watches have experienced a remarkable resurgence.
While much of the public attention has focused on modern Rolex sports models and record-breaking auction sales, many classic vintage references have quietly continued to gain popularity among collectors.
At Cph Vintage Watches, we monitor market prices daily as part of sourcing watches for customers across Europe, North America and Asia. Looking back at our own purchase-price data, we wanted to answer a simple question:
How have some of Omega's most recognisable vintage models actually performed over the last four years?
To find out, we analysed two highly sought-after references:
Omega Seamaster De Ville
Omega Constellation Pie Pan Dog Legs
Rather than looking at asking prices, the analysis is based on actual purchase prices paid for authentic watches in comparable condition. If you wan't to know more about the models, take look at our articles on the history of the Omega Seamaster De Ville and the history of the Omega Constellation Pie Pan.
Omega Seamaster De Ville: Approximately 60% appreciation
The first model analysed was the Omega Seamaster De Ville.
Originally introduced during the early 1960s, the Seamaster De Ville combines understated design with Omega's renowned automatic calibres. Today, it remains one of the most accessible entry points into vintage Swiss watch collecting.

Our indexed data (August 2022 = 100) shows that purchase prices have increased to approximately 60% by July 2026.
Although prices experienced several short-term corrections during the period, the overall trend has remained positive.
Omega Constellation Pie Pan Dog Legs: Approximately 75% appreciation
The second model examined was the Omega Constellation Pie Pan Dog Legs, one of the most recognisable vintage Omega watches.

The distinctive Pie Pan dial, the faceted “Dog Leg” lugs, and the chronometer-certified movements have made the model highly sought after among collectors worldwide.
In our analysis, the average purchase price has increased by approximately 75% since August 2022.
Although the market has experienced fluctuations along the way, demand for original examples in high quality has remained remarkably stable.
Why are prices increasing?
We see several explanations. Firstly, the supply of original vintage Omega watches is becoming smaller year by year. Many watches have been polished, restored, or assembled using parts from multiple different watches.
At the same time, we continue to see growing interest in mechanical vintage watches.
Vintage watches were previously mainly purchased by dedicated collectors. However, we now see many customers who are looking for a watch with history, craftsmanship, and character – rather than another mass-produced product.
Finally, Omega remains one of the most accessible Swiss luxury brands for those looking to purchase an original vintage watch.
Does this mean vintage Omega watches are an investment?
This is a question we receive frequently, and our answer remains the same: Buy a watch because you want to wear it.
Historically, original watches in good condition have often performed well, but nobody can guarantee future price development.
Vintage watches are traded in a free market, and prices will continue to move both upwards and downwards. If you choose a watch with an original dial, correct movement, and well-documented history, you generally stand stronger – regardless of how the market develops.
Conclusion
Our analysis shows that purchase prices for both the Omega Seamaster De Ville and Omega Constellation Pie Pan Dog Legs have increased significantly since 2022.
This confirms the development we experience every day: Competition for the best original examples has increased, and international collectors are increasingly seeking classic vintage Omega watches.
Nobody knows whether this development will continue. But one thing remains unchanged: The best vintage watches are still the ones you genuinely look forward to wearing on your wrist every single day.
